Schréder’s first Sustainability Report rewarded 2 prizes by the Awards for Best Belgian Sustainability Reports
Schréder is delighted to announce that its first Sustainability Report was awarded 2 prizes at the 2022 Awards for Best Belgian Sustainability Reports.
Organised every-other year by The Institute of Registered Auditors (IBR-IRE), these awards reward and encourage organisations to report transparently on sustainability issues by promoting the integration of sustainability information, such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, into their reports.
At the awards ceremony that took place in Brussels on 29th November, Werner de Wolf, Schréder CEO and Xavier Uhlen, Schréder Group Audit, Risk and Sustainability Director were happy to accept the 2 prizes for the Best First Sustainability Report and Sustainability Report Best Linked to the 2030 SDGs Agenda.
Schréder was awarded the Best First Sustainability Report in the Large Organisation category for the detailed and relevant information in an attractive lay-out. The Jury commended the report for the
- documented interactions with the stakeholders;
- well-described governance, risk and ethics;
- clearly defined and pertinent short and long targets which are measured throughout the report;
- focus on Human Rights issues.
As we get closer to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals Agenda adopted by the United Nations, the Jury wanted to reward an organisation which has embedded the SDGs in its report, on top of the other traditional criteria. Our report was also awarded the Sustainability Report Best Linked to the 2030 SDGs Agenda. The jury praised the clear link to specific SDGs and the use of the SDGs for the materiality assessment. They are very relevant and made the report tangible.
The 2022 edition received 47 submissions, a demonstration of the growing importance of transparent sustainability reporting for companies. A professional jury composed of representatives of the academic, economic and social profit world, journalists, as well as registered auditors, carefully analysed all the reports, using evaluation criteria that are largely aligned to the GRI Standards and include the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015.
Schréder is proud to have received these prizes which are a testament to all the hard work of our employees worldwide.
I am very proud on behalf of all Schréder colleagues. This award confirms the legibility of our sustainability strategy, and underlines the clear alignment between our value proposition to our customers and our continuous commitment to protect the planet, the people and the community.
